Photo guide
Choosing the right photo
A good photo makes a better portrait. Most phone photos work well if they follow these points.
Pick a sharp, well lit photo where the whole animal is in view, from nose to tail and down to the hooves or paws.
Natural daylight is best. Avoid heavy shadows, strong filters and photos taken through fences or glass.
Use the original file rather than a screenshot or a photo sent through a messaging app, as those lose detail. Larger sizes need larger files, so for A2 we recommend the highest quality photo you have.
A clear side view or three quarter view gives the most natural result. For riders, make sure the horse is not hidden by other people or objects.
Photo permission
Please only send photos that you took yourself or have permission to use. Photos bought from event photographers are often licensed for personal use only, so check with the photographer first.
